Fantastic $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Is a Online Gaming GM's Dream

After a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back for a limited time that lasts until Dec. 2. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the entire collection carries a value of more than thirteen hundred dollars. Additionally, there exist three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is definitely a lifetime license for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard mapping application which enables users to create everything from fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

Package Levels

Entry Level

The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer new fantasy symbol styles for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the annual collection from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons including map packs and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables present urban areas in 3D perspective with isometric views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, packed with guidance and instructions covering cartography techniques.

All 17 volumes from the Annual series come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs enabling creators to design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, underground complexes, cities, and continents in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character portraits. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously more advantageous for map-making newbies considering you even get the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here is that while you can redeem the deal on any platform, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Charitable Component

Similar to previous bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief. Package customization options is toward the top of the page, but you can also select any amount for a donation in the right-hand section. There's also an "Adjust Donation" drop-down just below that, enabling adjustment of the distribution percentage allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
